Jio 5G service will roll out in India in the July 2021, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani revealed during his keynote in India Mobile Congress 2020 on Tuesday.
The Indian billionaire said that the 5G service provided by Jio is described as a”testimony” to the federal government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) policy. Apart from rolling outside 5G in the country,
Jio is currently in the creation of an affordable Android phone in collaboration with Google that is likely to the introduction in the coming months.
Ambani, 63said that the policy steps were needed to quicken early rollout of both 5G from the country.
It will soon be powered by indigenous-developed network, hardware and technology components,” he explained.
Jio has been taking care of 5G for some time now.
To bring 5G in reality in India, Jio is working with companies, for example, Samsung along with Qualcomm. Ambani at the 43rd annual general meeting of Reliance Industries in July announced that Jio would start analyzing 5G network in the nation as soon as the spectrum would be around. Besides the 5G plans, Jio is currently dealing with Google to launch its entry-level 4G mobile smartphone. The new version is supposed to arrive in the first quarter of the next season using a price of approximately Rs. 4,000.
During his speech at the India Mobile Congress, Ambani urged the government to take policy steps for attracting affordable smartphones for its underprivileged people who’re still on a 2G network.
